This page depicts my ideas for the branding process of the 2028 Madrid Summer Olympic Games. It includes design elements such as a logo, banner posters, tickets, medals, street art, and swag items.
Above shows the beginning stages of my logo design process. The first image shows a variety of sketches and the second image depicts digital variations of logo designs. For the logo I wanted to create combinations between Madrid's culture and characteristics of the summer Olympic Games.
For the final logo I decided to combine the olympic torch and the bull head. I kept my color palette to reds, yellows, and oranges. I also created a black and white version of the logo for when it is placed on colorful backgrounds. An example of changing the logo to black and white can be seen in the street art above.
For the banner posters I decided to use photographs and give each figure a specific photographic treatment that emphasized color. I also decided to include lines in the back with my three main colors: red, yellow, and orange. I decided to include these lines because I felt they connected to the lines I used in my logo, and they helped to visual create a sense of movement from the figures.
The ticker design was created to mirror each design for the banner posters. I wanted to keep each event identifiable and to create a sense of cohesion.
The medals have the Olympic Rings and have the same lines that are in both the banner posters and tickets The necklace part of the medals have a repeating pattern of colorful triangles to provide a playful element.
The last part of this project required me to design swag items that could be sold at the Olympic Games. I decided to create t-shirts, sunscreen, water bottles, a passport book, and sunglasses.
